- We always knew we'd end up on a tropical island someday... Paul's dream job as a marine ecologist at the National Park of American Samoa brought us to the South Pacific in April of 2006. Melanie previously did environmental work for the American Samoa Coastal Management Program. Now she is happy to stay home with our two lovely daugthers, 11-year-old Emma Rayne and baby Ona Lily.
